*Quick Note: This program was inspired to share a fun experience with my own 8-year-old daughter, but it is NOT LIMITED to just fathers or daughters. It is about creating that same fun atmosphere between one child and one key adult in their life, to explore what it takes to be an entrepreneur.
WHAT IS IT?
Father Daughter Business Starter is a 6-Week online experience where your son or daughter will start their own business, develop a product and sell it to first customers.
It is NOT a "class" of Zoom calls but a learning laboratory format. Parent and child will explore together. They will get their hands dirty.
And ultimately together we learn that when we want something in life (that new toy or video game for example) there is always a way to make it happen.

How to pick the perfect idea that will be fun, profitable, and worth your time. Learn how to know that people will pay for it BEFORE it even costs you a penny.

For The Heroes (ages 7-17): Yes you can. And yes you are a hero.
You are THE hero of your own story. The Hero's Journey is a big part of what we do at Acton Academy. We talk about it every day. It is the path that leads to your finding a calling that will change the world. It will change your world.
I know you can do this, because Heroes as young as 5 and 6 years are able to follow this process and use their own creativity to sell products with a real business behind them.

For The Adults: Honestly... your job will be a lot harder. Because as the adult your role is to be the cheerleader and NOT step in to fix things when they go off course. You will have to watch your child struggle. That's really hard. And maybe even fail. That's even harder. In the end, you would never want to deprive your cherished little one from the experiences that will make them powerful beyond both of your imaginations.
The Father Daughter Business Starter program is every bit as much about helping parents set a new contract with their child. It is about being learner-driven. With freedom comes responsibilty.
You will be SO proud when you see how capable even the littlest ones can be when they are given responsibility for their own experiences.
WHO WILL BE LEADING THIS QUEST?
At AAFTL, we don't talk in terms of lessons, tests, or curriculum. We play with games. We do launches. And we do Quests.
The Father Daughter Business Starter Quest will be led by Tobin Slaven, supported by his 8-year-old (Divya), 20-year-old (Giovanna) and 22-year-old (Chantal) daughters.
WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?
At the end of the Quest, your daughter WILL HAVE a product that they will bring to market. It will already be proven to sell (that is part of the testing). They will have the opportunity to turn that proof of concept into a real business.
Imagine your child being able to start multiple businesses before they even turn 18.
At the end of each FDBS 6-week session, there will be an exhibition of the work, in the form of an online marketplace. This is the first milestone in turning your son or daughter's idea into a viable business.
In addition to testing their proof of concept product online you will ALSO have the opportunity to participate in a Children's Business Fair. You may choose to travel and join us here in Fort Lauderdale, or find a CBF in your local area.
WHEN ARE THE DATES?
The next Father Daughter Business Starter Quest begins Monday, June 21st.
Summer Quest #2 begins Monday, July 19th.
Each Quest runs for 6-Weeks. It includes a weekly combination of self-paced resources + virtual "Learning Lab" sessions to ask questions or get feedback on your ideas.
The next AAFTL-sponsored Children's Business Fair (Fort Lauderdale) is planned for Saturday, Dec 4th at Esplanade Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
How Much Does This Program Cost?
The investment for the 6-Week Program is $1850. This includes registration in the next AAFTL-hosted Children's Business Fair Weekend, if you choose to join us.
IS THIS PROGRAM GUARANTEED?
No.
But Here Is My Personal Promise To You: This is business. Business has risks (or else everyone would be doing it, right?). That is part of the learning experience here, every bit as much as learning practical math when we develop the Profit & Loss statements.
There are NO true guarantees in life. I’ve been doing this work for over a dozen years now. It is NEVER “fast and easy”. If that is what people are selling you - run the other way!
This ability to go "get your first customers" framework is something your daughter will NEVER lose or UN-LEARN. Once you know it, it cannot ever be taken away from you. It is THE master skill set that sets up all other aspects of business.
My goal is for you by the end of the 6-weeks is that your child will be have validated their idea by getting first customers AND they will be ready to take their product to market. If your child moves a bit slower and needs more time... I’ll continue to support you on my dime, with additional planning sessions and resources until she is ready to exhibit online or at one of the Children's Business Fairs.
